Who Needs A Big Car?

Updated: Nov 24, 2024

Signature Details:

The Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani may look like any old Fiat 500 but like the legendary designer, this car is nothing short when it comes to intricate details. For example, the addition of a woodgrain dashboard to really bring out the feeling of exclusivity on the inside whilst remaining so minimilast on the exterior, imprinted on this dashboard is the signature from the man himself Giorgio Armani as well as being placed on the door panels and the rear windows.

Aesthetics:

Though the wheels are somewhat hideous, there is no hiding the fact that this car is very pretty. Looking back to 1957, we can still see the excact same shape and this is one of the only cars at the moment that has such a rich history and can afford nearnly 70 years later to pay tribute to it. At the front, we see an incredibly good looking grille - does it do anything, probably not - do I care, absolutely not! The double headlight design once again paying tribute to the legend that was the original 500.

Moving to the rear end I think it follows the same trend, looks great but the wheels just look as though they decrease the prestige and exclusivity level. The same minimalist and simple yet very clean brake lights have been installed and apart from that there is not much going on.

So we have a fancy addtion of the already brillaint Fiat 500 but what is it like to drive? Well, we have a fantastic front wheel drive system pulling along the 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque electric motor which brings the overall kerb weight to only 1,255 kg in an electric car! What this is then is a time travel machine, the advantage of electric torque to boost you along the road before you can even register the acceleration and then the Fiat part of it weighing only just 1255 kg.

Wheels:

Now I should mention that the wheels do have a very intersesting and important meaning which is to display the Giorgio Armani logo but if you put them against any other fiat 500e we can see some of my personal favourite wheels ever fitted to a production car. I think these wheels are so good looking just because they compliment the cars personality so well - they are aggresive yet reserved, angry yet calm.

Finally then, what do I think? Well, I believe that the fiat 500 is one of the best cars on sale today solely because of how nippy, direct and controllable it is so add a special edition to the model range and it just makes it even cooler. The wooden dashboard is absolutely beautiful but the one let down is simply the wheels, I think they have a great meaning but I just belive there was a better way of excecuting it as they look more like transport wheels! But all of that moaning aside I think the Fiat 500 will be known as one of the coolest cars to ever exist and a special edition will just create more wants and needs for people in the future looking back on cars like these. What I would like to finish on is the Peugot 205 Lacoste. The reason I am bringing this truly incredible car into the question is that fourty years ago a manafactuer of a tiny hatchback made a collaboration with a clothes manafactuer and people still remember Peoguot in the 80s just for this and the 1.6 GTI so I feel this Armani edition is going to have an identical effect in the next few years... but only time will tell.
