The brand new Ferrari 12Cilindri has just been unvieled and we instantly know two things. One, it is very very pretty and two, it will be very very quick. The new 12 Cilindri is the newest installment in the journey of front engined V12 Ferraris starting back in 1947 but more commonly known to be the 'side' Ferrari since the 575 Maranello back in 1996! So to me, this car looks very pretty, sounds like it has the engine of an angel - but I do worry that it will have too much haptic touch and too many electronic limitations that make you feel like you are barely controlling the car, just watching the computer handle it.
Performance:
Now, Ferrari have always loaded their V12s with more power than you could ever need but this much is just maniacal. Ferrari thought it a good idea to put an 819 horsepower V12 with a RWD car which is crazy but I do admire the decision and am not complaining one bit. I mean that is just unbelivable but whats crazier is that this car can handle that pwoer which makes me think Ferrari has forced the car to always look after the driver and never fully turn off - it will always offer assist. Nevertheless, this car sounds absolutely epic with its insane areodynamics and super grippy tires.
Aesthetics:
Now is the subject of how this looks. Yep, it is an acquirred taste but I have most certainly acquirred it and I think it is one of the best looking modern Ferraris. Lots of people are saying that it is very sci-fi which I very much see and think just adds to the unique-ness of this car - and I have to say... I adore it.

Now lets look at the rear end. Bloody hell. This really is one of my favourite looking Ferraris of all time, it looks so effortlessly clean, it is so simplified and somewhat empty that it just creates the illusion that everything has a vital function to fling this car through the air. I adore the theme of very thin lights throughout this car, i think it massively adds to the road presence of it and you will never mistake this for a Mini Cooper if it is coming at you at night time.

Interior:
Now, on the matter of interior I think this car is a bit of a let down. The new design language with cars is ram as many screens as possible but we all know that everyone prefers analogue buttons and screens age horrendously - so on a car this expensive they must have tried to make a work-around for us? No. Instead we have a soul-less interior full of haptic touch buttons that never actually work and the stupid gear selector that no one wants. What annoys me greatly is that this car is so perfect and as it is a grand tourer, you want the interior to be a nice place but looking at this - that does not seem the case.

Price:
Now you may read this and think that I have been a bit harsh on the interior but when we come to the subject of price, you can see why I expect perfection. For this front-engined V12 RWD Ferrari, at base price you will be paying £336,000 BEFORE options which will easliy put you over the threshold of £400,000 and be working your way up to £450,000.
So, I think this is one of Ferrari's greatest masterpieces when it comes to stying and building a great engine but the price and interior just let it down. I do think the assists would hold you back in driving this monster but I will not mention that as I do not know for sure. If i had the money I would certainly buy this because as Ferrari have literally called this car the '12 cylinder' I feel they may stop making cars with V12's very soon - so I would get one whilst you can!
Ferrari 12Cilindri Scores:
Looks = 10/10
Drivability = 5/10
Luxury = 5/10
Power = 8/10
Future/Current Classic = 10/10
Total = 40/50
Looks = 10/10
Beautiful front end, paying tribute back to the 550 Marannello with its front engined V12 and super thin lights making it look like a spaceship.
Smooth side silhouette that flows so well wiht the 'grand tourer' category that this car finds itself in.
On ther rear end, Ferrari have created an extremely aggresive feel to it and a simply fabulous roofline.
Drivability = 5/10
Like the F80, this car has so many electronic aids I can just see it getting in the way of driving, especially in the context of a grand tourer, you would be constantly fighting the car.
Luxury = 5/10
Again similar to the F80, the 12 Cilindri is full of screens and haptic touch which becomes a massive dangerous issue when driving as you are looking through the menus to find a certain setting whilst the car is still moving.
To me, this also makes the interior look very rushed and lazy that they have just chucked a bunch of screens in and left it as oppose to really making a good interior like Porsche would.
Power = 8/10
819 horsepower is an absolute insane amount in a GT car but as long Ferrari can moderate the power delivery and not make it overly unnatural - it should be a very fun car to drive.
Future/Current Classic = 10/10
This is one of the prettiest modern Ferraris so I could see this being one of the most sought after Ferraris in the future, especially when you put it against other Ferrari GTs like the California or Portifino.
Overall Score = 40/50
